Keyboard keeps changing to default.

After the recent update, my keyboard keeps changing to the default even when I have a custom theme installed. It gets to the point where I have to restart my phone, but it still reverts to the default keyboard every time. I've tried everything, including resetting the keyboard, restarting the phone, and changing the theme, but nothing seems to work. Please help me.

My phone is a Galaxy Z Flip 4, if that helps. Everything else works fine, except for this persistent keyboard issue.

Update: no changes still, even after update :(

It was almost impossible to use other apps 😅, but I did a full backup of my data and reset the phone, said a prayer, and put everything back... well, it didn't work. Now, as I stare at this grayish keyboard that the system swears is the Galaxy Theme one, I throw in the towel and will wait patiently for the next update. There's only so much I can do with my limited knowledge, and I can bet my life that the last update is to blame. Black keyboard it is until then; I can't stand the gray one. Have you tried SwiftKey Keyboard? 

I can guarantee that whichever of it's themes you choose, will stay!

It's not quite a match for me; I'm kinda picky 😅, but I just discovered that changing the keyboard and then returning to the theme one fixes it temporarily... look at that! Thank you very much for your aid.

Did you get it fixed? If not.. go into settings then if you want a different keyboard go to "Preferences" to change it

I have the same problem and wanted to chime in here. It's really annoying! I want to be able to enjoy the themed keyboard when I apply a theme. I hope Samsung fixes it soon

I just went through an update, and it didn't fix it... I'm so aesthetically displeased, ugh. It's the worst. No clues, no steps to fix it, nothing has worked :(

The theming is the main reason I've stuck with the Samsung keyboard. If this doesn't get fixed, I might have to go back to SwiftKey or try Gboard... I hope they work it out soon!

I've been having the same issue!!! I've turned on the themed keyboard countless times n it constantly changes :(( I'll try to download swiftkey or gboard like some of ya'll suggested to see if that works...

It's quite frustrating. Three updates have come and gone, and still, when I switch to the keyboard, it's that same dull gray default one. 😭 I'm feeling exhausted, not sure what to do, and Samsung's support hasn't been of much help.
