I've just updated my Galaxy Fold 5 to OneUI 6 but the incredibly useful Samsung Finder app has disappeared.

On older versions of the UI, it provided a deep search of the phone to find folders, contacts, apps etc and you could create a shortcut to it from the homescreen.

It seems it's now been replaced by the search bar in the apps drawer, which is nowhere near as good.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Now I have to launch the app drawer and click at the top search and launchthe keyboard to search. Before u could just swipe down using the Goodluck feature and access finder quickly. Or even without Goodluck use the finder shortcut to click and instantly go right into search with the keyboard ready.

I never used Finder, but Nova Launcher seems to have something very similar to what you describe... I think?

I had nova launcher, but removed it as one ui for fold 5 works better when in tablet mode.

Hi ziom, thank you for your valuable feedback. We acknowledge that similar opinions have been voiced in Samsung Members Community in other countries/regions. We will try our best to communicate this to the appropriate team, and hopefully, the change will come in future software updates.

Idk if my phone had it before but I can't find it now either. I'm also on OneUI 6, but I have Galaxy A34 5G

Samsung is so dumb. They have so many other useless features and get rid of one that is highly used. They claimed nobody used it. This just tells me thay have no pulse on what is going on and what their customers want. Search is so simple on ios. You pull down from anywhere and instantly can search for apps, contacts, texts, etc....

Now they go and remove finder. Like what are they thinking

Yeah like barely a month after I use my A34, so many apps get discontinued by Samsung for my phone. Other apps like the camera just straight up don't work properly anymore, but updating to OneUI 6 seems to fix that and brought back support for some apps. If the Google Pixel phones were much cheaper, I would've gotten them instead; I'm skeptical of buying refurbished goods from third party sellers online.

Attention Samsung Galaxy/OneUI app developers - do not depricate Finder app! When set as the default digital Assistant app - with settings of Finder toggled to find only in specific apps - ie "Settings, email, contacts - only" or ie "voice recorder, samsung notes" or ie "Bixby Voice, Bixby Routines" - the world is much easier for not so savvy phone users and power users alike as Finder toggle off most clears the clutter and nusance and noise of dumb ""AI" mistakes.
