Thanks for raising this. The need to lower the camera resolution for QR scanning shouldn’t be necessary, and we understand how frustrating it is to deal with this every time.
Typically, QR code scanning uses a separate scanning engine that should work regardless of camera resolution. If reducing the resolution is helping, it may point to a software optimization issue or a bug with the default camera app’s QR detection logic especially if this started after recent One UI updates.
We’ll pass this along as feedback to the development team. In the meantime, as a workaround, you could try using Samsung Internet or Samsung’s QR code scanner shortcut from the Quick Panel, which may avoid the issue entirely without needing to adjust resolution.
