Seems like there's quite a few people posting issues after the Oreo Update or Security Patch updates... The 1st thing to do is if you're having issues after either of the two updates is: Boot into Recovery and Wipe Cache - Reboot.
If you are still having issues - Backup your apps and settings etc to Smart Switch and Factory Reset your phone...This SHOULD resolve most issues 😉🐧

@Wonchul - If others agree - it might be a good idea to have this suggestion as a Pinned Post along with Samsung's Community Posting Policy?

Samsung needs to update Smart Switch so that it back up all application data. As it currently stands, if you restore it will put back all the applications but data such as current location and high scores in games don't get backed up. Some other data for non game applications also don't get backed up.

Absolutely! I've posted a "suggestion" more than once asking if Samsung would develop a Non Root version of TWRP and Titanium Backup... I know that Both are possible.. But the question is the Will to do it there? There's also apps on the play store that allow you to backup all the apks (but no Data) And you can save the app apk backup on your phone (internal or external sd) and send it to your Cloud Account.. ***Important Note*** SA Cloud NO longer supports 3rd party apps!

Or avoid the upgrade, use Nova Launcher with Sesame and enjoy a fully awesome customized experience.

I hate it how people need to go through the hassle of backing up their phones and resetting them after this update.

It would have been nice if Samsung tested the update for a few extra weeks instead of releasing a buggy update with a bunch of lost features.

Agree with me or not, a late polished update is fine.
A late unpolished update is not.
