Hi!

I cannot use a HDMI ARC connection between my RU8000 and YAS109. Sound does not come out on soundbar although HDMI (receptor) is selected on TV and Anynet+ is activated (no sound on TV speakers when this is selected).

Had 2 conversations with Samsung support technicians and went through all the TV configuration and verification steps (switching HDMI cables, resetting TV, toggling Anynet on and off, etc), twice, to no avail. They say it’s a problem with the Yamaha  soundbar. So I took the soundbar back to the store and we tested it. It worked flawlessly on all other TV models (Sony, Vizio...)

We also tested it on various Samsung TVs. All of them had problems connecting to soundbar through ARC.

Therefore, it seems to be a compatibility issue for the Samsung system. Samsung support told me that the Yamaha soundbar hadn’t been tested on the TVs yet.

I hope Samsung will work on a firmware update to correct this issue.

In the meantime, I connect through optical cable, but I really want the ARC capabilities.

Samsung, where are you on this issue?

thanks.

I have same problem with my Arc and Denon receiver. The samsung support person new nothing and was waste of time. She told me my receiver not compatible  when it worked fine for 9 years with my old samsung tv. Now we have this eARC tv maybe it is not compatible. It switches ON  but not OFF. However it does switch iptv Buzz box OFF as required but not On.

I have the same problem with my au8000 65” tv and my Yamaha 108 soundbar. After playing with it for 2 hours the tv still will suddenly shut off then come back on and the tv has reset it’s audio to tv speakers. You have to go back in and reset the tv audio to ARC. It will keep shutting off, and, when I shut the tv off with my Bell controller the soundbar will not turn on again with that controller. Frustrating. It’s like the samsung tv doesn’t like this soundbar. I now have the tv audio set to optical, not use ARC, use the optical cord and have to turn on the tv with either the bell controller or the samsung tv controller AND turn on the yamaha 108 soundbar with the yamaha controller.  Frustrating. After reading numerous internet posts I came to the decision Samsung tv’s don’t necessarily like some soundbars, and contacting Samsung is a waste of time.
