I use a Samsung Galaxy phone.

I used Nearby Share until now and it worked flawlessly.

I was recently prompted to upgrade to QuickShare, so I did.

Now that I try to send any files to other phone(s) via Quick

Share, it simply doesn't show the recipient's name despite setting the Visibility to Everyone, disabling Power saving mode, keeping Bluetooth turned on, being on the same Wi-Fi network as the recipient.

I'm attaching associated screenshots for your reference.

Is this due to any recent updates or security patch?

Any help appreciated.

Hi kp7, we apologize for your inconvenience with Quick Share. With the new update, could you confirm the following:

  • Ensure that Bluetooth and Location are working on both devices;
  • Both devices are close to each other;
  • On the receiving device, open 'Quick Share' or 'Nearby Share' and set its visibility accordingly;

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, you can try turning off and on Airplane Mode on both devices. In addition, you can try clearing the cache app of 'Quick Share' on both of your devices:

  1. Go to 'Settings', 'Apps', and sort & filter to show 'System apps';
  2. Search for 'Quick Share' or 'Nearby Share' and click it;
  3. Click 'Storage', then 'Clear cache' (you also have the option to 'Clear data' if you want).

Please kindly inform us how it goes.

Thank @Samsung_Ben for sharing your inputs. I just tried the above mentioned steps. None of the above worked for me.

Might also want to update the Galaxy Store, if you haven't already.

The Galaxy Store is on the latest version: 4.5.69.6

I also installed all the available updates.

The Quick Share problem on my Samsung Galaxy phone still persist.

How about go to Settings -> Apps -> Show system app -> Quick Share

Click Uninstall update from top right. Will QS works again?

I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if it's an Android version issue, being unsupported with the update to Quick Share?

it wasn't work on my S23 Ultra, but QS works on my S24 Ultra thou.

On S23 Ultra, the only way to make it works was uninstall QS updates, then all works fine.1708568106422.jpg
