Copy text codes

I'm not able to copy a code texted to me and later paste it. How do I do this. I can't seem to find it in the settings.

Don't know about Samsung's Messages app, but with Google Messages, LONG Press on what you want to copy & then Click on the "Copy Icon". 

It's copied to your clipboard & then paste it where you want.

In Sansung message, pretty much the same. Long press and hold on the message. Then you can choose Copy Text from submenu.
