I have 3 Galaxy phones that I'm unable to update Play Store apps.  I have the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (One Ui 3.0), S 20 Ultra (One UI 3.0) and Note 10 Plus (One UI 2.1) all which provide the same error message: "Error Checking for Updates"  I've completed complete resets for each and still receive the message.  I've tried deleting cache, deleting my Google account, updating Play Store and every other online course of action possible.  Please assist.

Causing this error could be couple things:

Do this on 1 phone first, any model is fine

- Press and hold Playstore app, click App info

- Click Storage

- Click clear data clear cache

Test playstore update again. If not working, try next step.

- Press and hold Playstore app, click App info

- Click 3 dots n top right

- Uninstall updates

Test playstore update again. If not working, try next step.

- Tell everyone in your home that you need to recycle router power

- Unplug your modem/router power for 10 seconds

- Plug power back on and wait for internet restore

Test playstore update again. If none of above suggestions work, will figure something else.

Note: try your playtore update on mobile data or other network connection as well, starbucks hotspot or tim hortons hotspot works too. If you have vpn or proxy settings on your internet connection, will also causing update problems.

In addition to Tallman's suggestions, you can also clear cache & data from Download Manager & Google play services. You could also remove your Google accounts from your phone & re-add them.

If everything else fails, you may want to try to factory reset, if you haven't already.

Hi. I'm having same problems with bluvsbjy on a Note 20 Ultra. Doing the uninstall updates on the Playstore app, then the list of 20 or so apps to be updated in Google Play store is gone. Was that the fix already? And then Google Store Completing setup in the notifs panel just keeps going on..

Have you tried just Rebooting your phone?

Have you tried any of the other problem solving steps?

Sometimes, the issue isn't even with you, occasionally Google or your Internet connection are the problem.

But whenever you have any issue, the first step should always be the simplest.. Reboot.

I tried everything, I rebooted my phone then our router. Then even did a factory reset last night. Still no fix. I tried updating my apps on mobile data and it worked. Even worked on updating Apps in Galaxy Store. So I guess its just the Playstore having issues.

As I understand it, you were able to update Play Store apps with Cell Data, but not using WiFi, is that correct?

Have you tried updating Play Store apps using a different WiFi network, for example Tim Horton's WiFi?

Well from what I understand you to be saying, you have 3 did galaxy devices, none of which can update from the Play Store using WiFi?

If that's the case, then to me the obvious answer is, an issue with your WiFi at home.
