Google Play System Update Stuck on October 2024

It's curious how some people get upset about Samsung's OS, or Security Patch Updates.. But not a word about Google's lack of Play System Updates.. 

My S23 Ultra is on February Play System, but my S25 Ultra is still on October 2024 Play System.

It's important because it includes Play Services, which focus on security, privacy & user experience. 

This has NOTHING to do with Samsung! It's ALL on Google.. and Samsung isn't the only OEM running Android 15 where this is an issue.

This post isn't a rant against Google, but it's just to point out that people should not be railing against Samsung because they are waiting for One UI V7.0.. Google has work to do with Play System Updates for Android 15...

I dont get mad at either, but there have been several play updates. It seems like a bug that fails to update the date.

As mentioned previously, this also occurred for 3 or 4 months on my Tab10. Same thing, several updates, no date update.

Yeah I've also had several small updates on my S25 Ultra, but the full update is something like 36+ Meg at least. The updates I have received have been tiny.

Again it's not unique to Samsung, it looks like it might be any device running Android 15.

But my main point was to address people who are angry at Samsung and the One UI V7.0 update delays.

Samsung doesn't make Android 15, but Google does, and clearly they are having trouble with the Play System Update for Android 15.

Yup, I updated a few times; I only reached February 2025.

And I fully agree with RDR!

I seriously feel there is a group of people on the internet just waiting for Samsung's downfall, while championing or, in article comments on GSMArena, consistently being negative to the point of irrelevance on any article about Samsung, as if their income and livelihood depend on it.

I think need clean cache and data on Google play system then restart if work or not.

That won't do anything, the Play System Update simply isn't available from Google at the moment, and again, it's not just not available for Samsung, other OEMs as well running Android 15.

Why do Samsung users have this weird habit of deflecting valid criticisms against Samsung by bringing up the shortcomings of other brands?

Its like when Samsung put ads (literal Loblaws grocery store flyers) in stock apps, but according to Samsung Members users it was okay because Apple sends you reminders to increase your Cloud storage when it's full.

Let's all agree that delayed updates with minimal communication to customers ***. Especially when it's been 1.5 years since the last one.
