Oddly enough, the bar doesn't bother me like i thought it would.

This works, but there is a new version of NavStar coming out that will allow you to enable extra gesture controls and hide it.

If it's not out in your region already, APKMirror has it.

As another user mentioned, this method is outdated now.

Just wait for the new NavStar update or download it via APKMirror.
