OthersI bought a Samsung Washer & Dryer in March 2022, and while the appliances work well, the lettering on both devices is slowing rubbing off....and soon there will be no indication of the mode/start/stop or anything else on the display panel. I have never seen anything like this before. I called and spoke to numerous Samsung Support staff who just passed me over to Executive Support who informed me that this is an 'unknown' issue and a 'cosmetic' fix that is my responsibility.
I think this is a manufacturing defect and the panel should be replaced with a solution that will prevent the lettering from rubbing off. What kind of product are you making over there Samsung? I've owned Maytag, GE, Kenmore (which was created by Samsung BTW) and NEVER had this issue. What gives? and why is this my problem?

OthersSamsung's customer service in Canada is terrible, I'll say that with no hesitation!
Yeah, I've seen virtual antique appliances in cottages, that still have the "labeling", clearly visible.
I'd suggest that you call Samsung back, and ask / demand to speak with a supervisor.
March 2022 is only about 5 months ago, not 50 years.. I'd be extremely unhappy with the response you received too!

OthersHi Ken_Kavanagh, we understand that how upsetting that must have been for you.
However, we suggest you to get the unit examined by the Samsung Authorized Service Technician to get it fixed.
We would like to inform you that it would be considered as cosmetic damage and unfortunately it is a paid service.
Please visit the link given below to know the nearest Samsung authorized service center.

OthersThe same thing happened to mine. My washer was Dusty so I took a soft cloth to dust it and the letters came right off. You'd think I was wiping a dry erase board

OthersI have the same issue. Only 2 years old. Mechanically works just fine, but without labels I’ll be washing blind. Doesn’t take much pressure, just a touch, and the labels are smeared or wiped clean off. It comes off as easily as dry erase marker from a white board.
I’ve owned a dozen washers over the past 30 years, and never had a similar issue with any of them. The classactionlawsuits.com website does not work. Recommendations on how to effectively take action.

OthersThis is not cosmetic damage. As washers and dryers get Dusty most people will run a cloth along the top of the washer and dryer to clean it off. These letters rub off even at the gentlest hand. It's as if they were written on with dry erase. This is a manufactured defect not a cosmetic defect. Lettering should not rub off just by being dusted with a cloth
