Hello, recently with Google Play store and now McAfee, I'm getting a message stating Link to Windows app is malware, yet I can't uninstall it.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't see any such report from the Play Store.

As for McAfee, "anti-virus" apps are mostly a waste of time on Android devices.

Android doesn't work the same as Windows.

However, with the recent revelation about Android Signature Keys being Leaked, it is always a good idea to keep vigilant about where you are getting your apps from.

It's IMPORTANT to know that the Android Signature Keys Leak, does NOT affect Any OTAs, and there MAY only be the POTENTIAL for some bad actors to take / taken advantage of the Leaked Signature Keys.

I personally won't lose any sleep over it, and I wouldn't worry about what McAfee says about Link to Windows.

Android "anti-virus" software manufacturers, are selling a product of questionable benefits for Android devices.

Ok. The app comes pre-installed. I can't uninstall it. Idk why it started showing up as a problem

Yeah I wouldn't worry about this app, and although you can't uninstall it, you can disable it.

Go to Settings > Apps & Search for Link to Windows if you wish.

This is what I get. Thanks. I couldn't disable it last time I tried but I was able to this morning. Screenshot_20221209_071107_Device care_1000001338_1670587909.jpg

Looks like an older version of the app.

This is what is installed on my device, albeit mine is a Beta version.

BUT it is not Flagged as potential Malware.

Disabling this app may cause other apps to stop working correctly

That's the response am getting when I try to disable it

I had the same thing happen a few days ago, it wouldn't let me uninstall with McAfee but when I uninstalled it from in the windows folder it seemed to work. I all of a sudden just a few minutes ago got that "Don't install" "Install anyway" thing.
