OthersHello Members!
Last year I posted my two photography threads to take better photos with what your Galaxy device and I mentioned a few apps but mainly Lightroom. This time, I want to share some apps I use on a regular basis and they take photo-taking and editing to the NEXT LEVEL. I hope you find this helpful! 😃
1. Photoshop Lightroom Mobile
Yep, I still love this app. Lightroom mobile is SO POWERFUL and it's what I use to fine-tune my colour grade on my photos. You can do pretty much everything on Lightroom from editing composition, lighting, HSL, detail and so much more. I've used it for the past two years and it remains to only get better! This app is also great for taking RAW photos and importing them directly into the editor. There are also experimental features such as long-exposure which can be finicky but work surprisingly well. Overall, a 9.5/10.
2. Snapseed
I'm going to be honest, I really didn't like using Snapseed at first. I got too delved into the Lightroom train that I refused to learn any other editor, but once I started using Snapseed... I was blown away. Here's the thing, I always wanted to use Lightroom's paid features such as spot healing, or perspective adjustments, but I didn't think it was worth paying $53 a month for it... and then I found Snapseed and it definitely made my decision concrete. Snapseed is AMAZING! you can use the paid features I mentioned from Lightroom on Snapseed and the great part is they have a variety of controls that aren't available on Lightroom. For one, I think Snapseed has great presets, it also allows you to add-in blur which is actually fairly realistic, and best of all, that healing brush is amazing. In fact, I actually used it for this photo to remove my hand! I still use Lightroom for HSL, but Spot Healing on Snapseed is surprisingly decent.
3. GCam
Google's image processing on the Pixel is amazing, but the phone themselves are... not that amazing, this is where GCam comes in, it's a port of the Pixel's camera app with the image processing and let me tell you, HDR+ with a Galaxy Camera is 🤯! It's contrasty, sharp and the general colour science on the final image requires little to no tampering (even though I tamper a lot 😅). This app is great, but I have to mention that you need the specific port for your specific device, I don't want anyone to download any bad APKs so I'll leave the link to XDA for trusted links so you can find the appropriate port for your device:

4. VSCO
Yeah, I know, this app is flooded with most other things BUT photography, but if we ignore the community feature on it, VSCO has some incredible presets! Sometimes I use them for inspiration or when I'm in a slump and don't know what type of look I want to go for. One of the best uses for VSCO is their B&W presets; they hit the perfect amount of contrast and brightness, I really like them.
These are all the apps that I use to edit and shoot my photos, and I hope you download them to check them out yourselves! Thanks for taking the time to go through my list, I can't wait to see new photos and photographers over on Galaxy Gallery! 😉
