I recently updated my phone and for the last few days my time has been moving forward and back 1 hour throughout the day. I figured out this morning it keeps switching my time zone from pacific (vancouver) to mountain (edmonton) . Samsung chat told me to turn off automatic time zone for now. So that is the solution for now. Anyone else have that problem or a better solution?

Hi Swill77,

It is unusual to hear that you are experiencing an issue with the automatic time zone adjustment. We will proceed with a series of troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem.

  • Clear Location Services Cache - Go to Settings > Apps > Show system apps > Location Services, then clear cache and data.

  • Check Location Accuracy Settings Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning are enabled under Settings > Location > Improve accuracy.

    1. Power Off Your Device

      • Ensure the phone is completely turned off.

    2. Enter Recovery Mode

      • Press and hold the Volume Up and Power (or Side) buttons simultaneously.

      • Release both buttons when the Samsung logo appears and the device enters recovery mode.

    3. Navigate to ‘Wipe Cache Partition’

      • Use the Volume Down button to scroll.

      • Highlight Wipe Cache Partition.

      • Press the Power button to select.

    4. Confirm the Action

      • Use the Volume buttons to highlight Yes, then press Power to confirm.

    5. Reboot the Device

      • Once the cache is wiped, the recovery menu will reappear.

      • Select Reboot System Now using the Power button.

Here are the formal steps to wipe the cache partition on a Samsung device:

This process does not delete your personal data and can help resolve performance or system-related issues.

When I went into settings > apps there was no spot that said "show system apps" but I did do the recovery mode cache removal. When I rebooted my phone I tried turning on select time zone automatically and it instantly moved me to Edmonton again

Go to Settings > Apps & Click here:

You will then see "Show System Apps" > Toggle it ON.

ie: Move the Toggle to the Right and Click OK.

You will then be able to search for System Apps.

I did that and then did the recovery mode thing again. I switched on auto time zones again and it immediately switched an hour forward

Are you using Set Time & Date from your Carrier's Service?

Have a look at the screen shot below, see if using these settings works for you?

If that doesn't work, try using your Location if you aren't.. essentially the opposite of your current settings

Set time zone based on location seems to work so far, the way your screenshot is has been how my phone always was and same as my wife's (shes the s24 ultra, I'm the s24). Not sure why I didn't try that before. I'll keep that on and monitor. Thanks!
