Hi everyone,

I recently switched from S21 Ultra to S23 Ultra +. I noticed when sending whattsapp videos it gets compressed to 1 second. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. That didn't fix it. I also read to turn off HDR in my camera settings (did this) still not fixed. The videbim trying to send is 35 sec long. So it's not too big. I also tried a smaller 10 second same thing.
Any ideas?

Try sending them a link to the video, or try using Signal Private Messaging.

I downloaded it to video player and it still didn't work. I tried it privately and it didn't work.

When I suggested sending them a link, what I meant was for you to upload the video to your Google Drive / One Drive or whatever Cloud account you use, and share the link with them.

There shouldn't be any compression doing it this way.

Did you try using Signal Private Messaging, as I don't have any issues with it, but you need to set it up for high quality video.

  1. Tap on Data Usage.
  2. Now tap on Sent Media Quality.
  3. Select High. By default it is set to Standard.
  4. If you ever want to change the setting back to how it was, just repeat the steps above and select Standard in the last step. It's simple as that.
