Plagiarizing this question from reddit: "It's really frustrating. Besides this, its it's my favourite keyboard over gboard and swiftkey.

I swipe to type and in text like this it works perfectly fine, but in the address bar of any browser anythingyouswipelookslikethis and it doesnt auto space after you swipe a word. Yes I have auto space selected in the settings. Is there any way around this or is this just an unfortunate "feature" of this keyboard?"

Hi, we recommend you to check for any available updates that might address the issue.
Please check that Auto Spacing is active via Settings > General Management > Samsung Keyboard Settings > More Typing Options > Auto Spacing > Toggle the switch to the right.
Please be aware that this feature only works after you add a word from Predictive Text or Swipe To Type.

Unfortunately, Auto-Spacing is enabled but it still happens, even though I am using Swipe to Type.

I think the other comment here has it right: the browser thinks that I'm typing a URL when in fact, most often the time, it's faster to swipe-type a word or website name than to type out the URL... and usually I'm typing a phrase, like "what drinks to make with vodka and triple sec" (a kamikaze, apparently). However, if I'm going to type a URL, I'll likely just type individual letters and not swipe, since URLs are less likely to follow normal word/sentence structure than a search query text.

I know, I could just add the spaces, but it's annoying to not have the option to pick one way (for those who use the browser bar primarily for URLs) or the other way (for those who use it for search queries made up of phrases or simple word combinations, e.g. "hangover cure").

Remember: it's not just an address bar anymore, it's a "Search or type web address" bar. 🤓

In the address bar it doesn't space because urls don't have spaces. It thinks you're typing in an address rather than a search term, so it doesn't auto space.
Whereas with the keyboards that do autospace in the address bar, you have delete the space that it creates automatically when you're typing an address.

Both can be annoying

Agreed, and I get it: some people would rather depend on their URLs of choice than type out the name... for example, it's faster to swipe "Ottawa Citizen" in the search/address bar than "ottawacitizen.com", albeit only by a few seconds. But sometimes we type out our favourite URLs, or we have to input one from an extremal source, like from a paper flyer, etc.

I'm just hoping that Samsung will make that an option, for separate Auto-Spacing options for normal keyboard use and for browser use in the "Search or type web address" bar. (It's not just a web address bar anymore.)

I still forget to add spaces, and it's my 6th Galaxy phone 😅 .

That's the thing: it was never an issue with Swype. If Auto-spacing was on, it was on, and I just knew to "hunt and peck" type for URLs. I guess I'm just annoyed because I'm finally giving up on Swype because I know it hasn't been patched in years, so it's likely a security risk to my phone, but while Samsung Keyboard has made some real improvements over the last many years when I first went to Swype (back on my S4? That was a long time ago), it's still frustrating to see that it still auto- spaces after hyphens (as demonstrated just now) as well as with forward slash (e.g. "and/ or"... it's "and/or"). There should never be a space after hyphen or slash... 🤷‍♂️

Ah well. I know. I've been spoiled by Swype. Lol

I agree! The random spaces after hyphen issue also occurs when writing with the S-Pen... Samsung Keyboard would still need a few tweaks to beat Gboard (or Swype)!

Install Google's Gboard and your problem will be solved. It auto spaces on the url bar and is all around better if you ask me.

You're right. Sorry, Samsung. I tried. I really tried but I can't take it anymore.
