Some of my pictures on my S21 Ultra in the Gallery end up at the bottom with a Dec 31 1969 date on them. Funny thing is that it doesn't happen to all the pictures but to quite a few of them. I use both Samsung Gallery and Google Pictures and this only happens in Gallery. I also noticed that it happened on my Note 10+ right after the Android 11 UI 3.0 update. If i go in the picture details, there's no date on them. Any one else with this issue ?

I see. Because, the date you mentioned 1969 is usually associated with LAN card date, if you search for System Information on your PC, click it, then on the left side, click components> networks> and you'll see in the list this date for your Ethernet connection. It usually means when it was manufactured i believe, doesn't mean you've the wrong date on your computer.
Can you take a photo> send it to me via email directly> and I will download into galley of my phone and check details.
Let me know when you send it, so I can remove my email from here, it's personal. thanks.

I just figured out how its happening. When i take a picture, the picture is both in my Samsung Gallery and Google pictures. If i edit that picture with google pictures editor and delete the original one, it sends the one in Gallery to Dec 31 1969. If i edit that picture with Samsung Gallery editor, it doesn't happen. I believe that its the way google photos rewrites the edited pictures that Samsung Gallery cannot detect the date and defaults it to Dec 31 1969.

Hi GG2, Thanks for taking the time and getting back to us with the information about the issue. I suggest you please use the Samsung Members app to generate the error report by using the below link so that the team can review the Log Files.

In step 5, please select the "Application" category.

In step 6, Please check "send the system log data".

I guess it depends on what gallery you're using. Going back 10 years, & 10 different phones, my galleries are fine, but I don't use Samsung's Gallery.
