Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with SmartThings on my refrigerator. I’m logged in with the same account that I use on my phone and tablet, and I can see all my connected devices on those devices without any problem.

However, on my refrigerator SmartThings app, I can no longer see any of my connected devices. The strange part is:

I can still view energy information for all devices from the refrigerator.

If I remove or change rooms on my phone, those changes do appear on the refrigerator.

The system was working perfectly fine yesterday — I was able to see and control everything from the refrigerator screen.

I also tried signing in with my partner’s SmartThings account, but the issue remains the same.

Please help me resolve this issue. It seems like the refrigerator SmartThings display is still syncing in the background but not showing the devices visually anymore.

Everythings is BACK.

Monday morning and everything is back without doing anything.

It must have been some kind of external issue which now disapeared as suddenly and unexpected as it did occured three days ago (like a mystical belated Halloween experience).

Thanks to Mithil for posting the issue. This helped me a lot, because I knew the cause is probably not inside my Family Hub Refrigerator or my network and Waiting could help.

Hi Mithil,

Thank you for reaching out and providing a detailed description of the issue you're experiencing with the SmartThings app on your refrigerator. We understand how important it is for your connected devices to be accessible across all platforms, and we appreciate your continued use of Samsung products.

Based on your observations, it appears that the SmartThings app on your refrigerator is syncing data in the background but not rendering the device list correctly. To help resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Restart the Refrigerator Display

    • Power off the refrigerator using the control panel or unplug it briefly.

    • Wait 30 seconds, then power it back on to refresh the system.

  2. Clear SmartThings App Cache

    • Navigate to Settings > Apps > SmartThings on the refrigerator.

    • If the option exists, select Clear Cache and Force Stop, then reopen the app.

  3. Check for Software Updates

    • Go to Settings > Software Update on the refrigerator.

    • Ensure the latest firmware is installed, as updates may resolve display or sync issues.

  4. Re-Sync SmartThings Account

    • Log out of the SmartThings app on the refrigerator.

    • Restart the refrigerator and log back in using your Samsung account.

    • Confirm that the account matches the one used on your phone and tablet.

  5. Reset SmartThings App on Refrigerator

    • If the issue persists, consider resetting the SmartThings app:

      • Go to Settings > Apps > SmartThings > Storage > Clear Data.

      • Reopen the app and log in again.

  6. Network Check

    • Ensure the refrigerator is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

    • Try switching to a different network temporarily to rule out connectivity issues.

  7. Contact Support

    • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, we recommend contacting Samsung Support or visiting a service center. A technician may need to inspect the refrigerator’s software environment more closely.

The system is back to normal on its own.
But I tried all the recommendation you mentioned above. And even samsung support was kind of no use. They even don't know.

Oh NO,
for me this issue disappeared Monday morning, but it returned Tuesday night. Again I see none of my SmartThings devices on the Samsung Family Hub, while rooms and energy information are visible. Hope it will fix by itself once more (and then never happens again).

...the next morning, a few hours later, the devices suddenly appear again -- it's all very strange.
