Experienced the same thing. I made a report and brought it to my nearest service center. They replaced the entire screen and battery since it comes all together with the frame. Best to get to it while your warranty is still valid.

Bummer... why don't you try to officially submit a request for review? I remember when I brought my phone to the service center, I first made an official complain via their hotline then after the record was established I went to the local service center and they inspected the unit thoroughly, took photos and videos and they submitted it to Samsung's local head office. After that, they were given the go sign for replacement.

So this is normal procedure? They did It for my phone as well, but they say it's depends on head office to approve. As what you mentioned I hope I get approval for my unit as well

I can only assume that it is. Usually they are pretty generous and understanding, especially it's fairly new and more importantly a flagship unit.

Same happened to mine and it was around the SPen area. The same area which was heavily covered by the casing since day one. I can only assume it as a quality control issue from the factory.

Hello seanborna,

Thank you for reaching out to us in order to inquire about the issue of your Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra that is having paint peeling-off located in the upper part.

I understand and feel your worrisome having this discomfort and unpleasant experience on your device that has become an essential part of your daily productivity. But don't you worry, we are here to provide quick fix and offer solutions below.

Software Updates

A) Before we begin, ensure that your device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.

Settings >  About Phone > Software update > Download and Install > Follow on-screen notifications.

Battery Overheating

B) Remove the casing and test your device by running the Diagnostics in Samsung Members Apps

Step 1. Run Samsung Members and select Get help on the lower half of the screen.

Step 2. Tap View Tests located under Diagnostics.

Step 3. You may check specific Diagnostics and tap them directly to begin, in  this case, we select the Battery.

Step 4. You can view your results after the check is complete. Note the Battery status messages, if any.

C) Long-lasting Battery Care & Maintenance

Galaxy is designed to perform best at 0° ~ 35°C. Continuous use or charging in extreme temperatures may accelerate battery deterioration. Temporary exposure to extreme temperatures will activate the device’s safeguards to minimize damage, and charging will be limited to protect the battery from overheating.

D) Minimize battery deterioration with proper charging.

1) Always use an authentic Samsung charger to avoid battery deterioration and damage.
2) Always use a charger that fits. An incompatible charger could damage the USB port.
3) Properly connect the charger. Failure to properly connect may damage the device.
4) Unplug the charger after the device has reached 100% charge to avoid a swollen battery.
