I bought a S9 ultra tablet this week, unfortunately the biometrics is malfunctioning. I have done resetting and it still continues to malfunction. It doesn't recognize my finger whenever I want to open the tablet.

Sorry to hear this issue and appreciate your efforts. Since the fingerprint scanner on your Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is malfunctioning even after a reset, please try the below steps to fix the issue:

Clean the Screen and Finger: Make sure your screen and your finger are clean and dry. Any dirt or moisture can interfere with the sensor.

Re-register Fingerprint: Delete the current fingerprints and try re-adding your fingerprint, ensuring you capture different angles of your finger during registration.

Update Software: Check for any software updates, as a patch might resolve the issue.

If you are using a screen protector, it might be interfering with the fingerprint sensor. Try registering your fingerprint with the protector removed.

Restart your tablet in Safe Mode to see if a third-party app might be causing the issue. If the fingerprint works fine in Safe Mode, the problem might be due to an app.

Good morning Helenna. I just want to say thanks again for your advice.

However, i called samsung for the exchange of the tablet because I have taken it for repairs according to their instruction, but the repair agent advised me to request for exchange, which I did. Samsung promised to get back to me within 24-48 hours since Tuesday, but they haven't reached out to me since then.

Thanks. I have tried all Helenna stated but did not work well still. I don't have any screen protector.
I have called samsung, and they promised to get back to be within 24 to 48 hours, this will lapse by 2pm tomorrow, the 26th of Sept. I am waiting.
