Anybody else have an S5e is that was purchased "not google play certified"?  Is there a way to resolve this issue with samsung?  I can't update netflix and not getting security updates.  Tried a lot of things( factory reset, clear cache ..) but this is a firmware issue.

Hi frankyincanada, I suggest you to please check the status by opening playstore >> tap three bars at the top left >> Settings >> Play Protect certification. Please also check the device status by going into Settings >> About tablet >> Status >> Device status.

yes, I checked in playstore and it states "device not certified". Under device status, it reads "official". I have an early version of the tablet and not sure if the firmware was google approved. any other suggestions? spoke to samsung customer care and they suggested that, for a cost, I mail it in. my call got dropped and they never called back. I'll wait till Monday

bad idea! do not send your tabIet to customer care.

if that was their only suggestion, then they are clueless.

did you root your s5e?

can you show us settings - about tablet - software information?

no. I didn't even know what "rooting" meant. the tablet is as purchased and works great other than it's not google play certified. cannot update Netflix nor do I receive security updates. here is some info

Hi frankyincanada, Thanks for the information. I suggest you to remove and readd the Google account and check if the issue got resolved. If possible, please also try adding a different google account and check for the issue.
