Tab S9 FE randomly restarts and don't wake up.

Hi, just got this tablet maybe 2 weeks ago. Its never been dropped, was in a full protection case the entire time. 

What I've noticed: 

1. It restarts randomly while at sleep, I know this because I get prompted for my pattern before I can use fingerprint. I know there is a feature to restart automatically to free resources, but thats off.

2. It randomly won't wake up from sleep. After it put itself to sleep, sometimes it won't wake up. 

What was tried:

- Tapping the screen as I normally do.

- Tapping the power button for FP unlock.

‐ Pressing the power button.

- Holding the power button for more than 40 seconds. 

What works:

- Holding the power button and volume button. This causes the tablet to wake up and restart. 

Do I have a defective tablet here? Maybe some power issue? Does Samsung do exchanges? I traded in my old tablet so a full return might not be ideal.

When you say that it restarts randomly while the Tablet is "sleeping", how long is it "sleeping" ie: 15 minutes or 8+ hours?

Are you using the Power button to put the Tablet to "sleep"?

For sleep, I notice it(being prompted for pattern before able to use FP is usually after a restart right?) mostly when I pick it up after maybe a long charging time like overnight charging.

For the not waking up. The most recent one about an hour ago. I have it propped up so I can watch youtube or something while I work. So for this one it went to sleep on its own after a while. Then maybe about 15 minutes later I wanted to watch more youtube but it didn't wake up. Until I do the power and volume combo.

I should note that it never restarts or sleep like that when I'm actively using it. And for the most part I think it was always when I have it was plugged in to power

Check in Secure Lock Setting to see if you have it set to Automatically lock? 

If that's available on your Tablet?

Hi, it is set to auto lock after 5 seconds. Same with my phone, the s23u, which hasn't shown same issues.

Hi, I tried all but this happens without rhyme or reason. It's very much random. So going into safe mode doesn't really help me, I'd have to be in safe mode all the time.

Can you please tell me if Samsung does exchanges, not returns. And if so how to proceed, most I see are repair options. I don't want to repair, but a 1 to 1 exchange.

If the Reboots don't happen while you are in Safe Mode, then I would suspect a 3rd party app is causing the problem. 

Did this issue start when you first got the device, or a little while after? 

You can try Uninstalling any recently installed apps, and if necessary, Uninstall all the apps you downloaded from the Play Store, or Galaxy Store. 

You could also try a Factory Reset, backup your device with Smart Switch first, but don't restore any of the apps, at least initially to see if the Reboot issue is gone.
