Why is there not an officially supported Facebook messenger app for the galaxy watches yet? Apple has had a messenger app on their watches from the start and yet Samsung is STILL unable to have a legit messenger app to be installed on to their watches without having to sideload it ! At this point it's both sad, and pathetic. Does Samsung just not care anymore?? Giving g up the best text messaging app SAMSUNG MESSAGES, as well as never actually creating an official Facebook messenger app. I know it's very well capable to since I used to have it sideloaded on my galaxy watch 3. Does anyone know of a recent way with the most up to date versions of each app to both sideload messenger, as well as an actual messenger app that will work on galaxy 5 pro when it's sideloaded??

Hi doobydude,

We certainly understand your disappointment on this. While an official Messenger app isn't available, you can use the notification sync feature to reply to Facebook Messenger messages directly from your watch. Ensure "Smart Replies" or "Reply with Voice/Keyboard" is enabled.

Apps like Wearable Widgets can mirror Messenger's interface, though functionality is limited.

If you’d like to see official support, please consider reaching out to Meta through their feedback channels. Meanwhile, we will also make sure it will be considered as a valuable feedback and forward to our team.

Thank you.

I'm aware of that. Thanks for the info though. Whst is the reason there is no Facebook messenger app for the watch on the app store? Is there some sort of side deal Samsung and Apple have with Apple so that Apple is the only wearable that is allowed FB messenger app.?? Since just replying to messenger messages doesn't let you initiate a Facebook messenger message. Doing it the way you suggested, and the way it's currently setup only does about 45% of Facebook messengers ability. And the watches are more than capable of running a messenger wearable apk. Apples runs flawlessly. Apples watches are the only thing they make that are better than androids anything.

I don't use Facebook, but from what I understand.. I think that it's Facebook that isn't interested in providing the app for Samsung's watch.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple pays Facebook for some of the preferential services.. I am pretty sure that Apple has a Deal with a number of the Canadian Carriers.. I know that with Rogers, whenever you look for hardware ie: Phones & Watches, Apple's products are the first ones you see.

This doesn't help you, but it may give some insight on what's going on?

Thanks for the information. This makes the most sense since even some carriers in ontario Canada won't sell Samsung watches or offer a data plan to link the Samsung watches to their Samsung phones they sell. Which *** huuuuge. I've been bugging freedom mobile about getting Samsung watches with data plans for a long time now. 8yrs or so. Samsung is losing out on a lot of money because of this. The worst part I can't stand Apple phones. I like their watches square screen and the fact mobile companies offer Apple watch data plans it kinda forces people to go with Apple due to the fact smart watches by Samsung are $799CAD+ to buy outright. Atleast mobile companies would offer a pay as you go type thing a long with their data plan the same way you do with a phone and phone plan where you pay for the phone too each month.
