***Update: So Health Sync app does work to export your Google Fit activities into your Samsung Health app. However do not allow activity tracking on your Google Fit phone and do not install Google Fit app onto your Galaxy watch (My bad). If you do this then Health Sync app will log all activities including step and that will create duplication of walking in your workout logs.***

Wear OS 3.0 I thought this would allow the Galaxy watch to be able to use Google fitness apps and sync my workouts in the Samsung Health app. Most apps only have sync to Google fit but sadly when that happens activity is not logged in Samsung health.😔

Missing BIG feature for PlayStore apps I hope Samsung x Google finds a way to resolve this and allow Playstore apps to be accessible to Samsung Health.

Note: found issue with Health Sync

Edit: I just got the💡 to Uninstall Google Fit from my watch maybe that causes step sync to app on phone. Going to test this to see how Health Sync reacts!

You can use this app to sync your health data between different health apps:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.appyhapps.healthsync

I personally use it to sync my Samsung Health to Google Fit just in case I switch in the future. There's a small fee though but I'd say it's worth it since it syncs to more than just Samsung Health and Google Fit. It also messes up some features in apps like Pokemon Go's Adventure Sync where it tracks your steps while not in the app due to how it syncs your data across apps.

This doesn't work properly. What happens is that I will use my dumbbell workout app and then I will go for one hour walk. When I do this it will sync everything so once I get to Samsung health I will see two walking sessions and one dumbbell session. This is not ideal cuz then I have to delete one walking session.

And yeah when I used it I didn't set my height/weight to be identical on both apps which probably screwed up my data. But u see in my attached walking logged by health sync20210902_093257_71147.jpg

Are you also auto tracking on Google Fit? You should turn off all tracking on Google Fit and just track your workouts on Samsung Health first (or whatever health app you use) and let Health Sync do the transfer the information over or else you'd get conflicting/double data.

I'm not sure how this works with using a third fitness app though as I just use the built in workouts on my Galaxy Watch. But essentially just track only using Samsung Health then let Health Sync bring the information over to Google Fit.

Turning off the tracking on Google Fit is also what kills the tracking for apps that want to see your steps unfortunately like Pokemon Go's Adventure which I mentioned earlier but if you don't play that, it shouldn't be a problem.

I just checked my Google Fit and everything looks right where every entry is from Heath Sync and no double entries.

I assume it works the same when it's in reverse where you need to disable the tracking in the other app.

The S wearable app is limited and only has a few facewatch so if I want to download facewatch from the Google playstore a lot of the free watch face are synced to Google Fit by default and not Samsung. I'd also have to test each one and a lot require full payment to see if I can even select Samsung apps for any complications like step count. You see I mean, this is a big miss on features that original wear os users experience. I guess current GW4 users will also experience this one way or another.
