WearablesI have spent 3 days to get this watch 4 connected to my samsung S8. I have both the bluetooth and the wifi on the same wifi network. As long as the phone is within range of the bluetooth then using the watch to receive calls and making calls work...BUT as soon as I am away from the phone and the bluetooth is out of range the wifi does not let me use the cell phone to make or receive calls on the watch. Everything I read about the watch 4 with LTE says that this should work. Everyone in tech support says that is not true. I finally gave up and have order the watch 6 and will get another phone just for it. Then I will not have be connected to the watch via my cell phone.
Highly disappointed in the support and what was told to me. I was never able to get a mobile plan installed on the watch and I think that might be the problem. I tried scanning a QR code the techs sent me and it would not work. I finally have just given up...after I get my watch 6 and it WORKS i will have a Watch 4 available for sale if you just want a watch!!

WearablesHi wpatters1229,
We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy S8. It sounds like you went through a lot of effort to get the LTE and Wi-Fi calling features working.
For the Galaxy Watch4 LTE model, it should indeed be able to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi or LTE when out of Bluetooth range, provided a mobile plan is activated on the watch.
We recommend reaching out to your carrier once more to ensure the plan is properly activated, as that is a common requirement for LTE functionality.
Thank you.
