WearablesHi Samsung Tribe.
Recently purchased the Watch5 Pro, and would like to take advantage of the BP & ECG functionality, but I can't seem to use it, because my new phone is a Motorola Edge 2022. Kinda seems silly that the monitor app is only available through the Galaxy Store, when it should be available for use on any Android device right? Anybody have a suggestion on how to get the app on my phone so it will work with my new watch?
Thanks much all. Looking forward to a response. Cheers from 🇨🇦

WearablesSeems unreasonable to restrict the app like that. Not cool.

WearablesDownloading an apk isn't likely to be the answer.
Look for an app that can be used with Motorola phones. ie: Google Fit & Health Sync.
As for being "unreasonable", not really.. can't blame Ford for not being compatible with Chevrolet parts. Some might work, but no guarantee.

WearablesIt's just purely application related stuff and not HW related. Please give a clear information that ECG and BP feature need application which is available only for Samsung phones because it is present only in Samsung Store. I almost bought Watch 6 Classic only for BP and ECG functionality but having non Samsung phone. There was no such information on brochure in shop.

Worst example ever - hardware incompatible vs hard lock on software.
You can and should blame Samsung for doing that!
Phone is not doing anything besides INSTRUCTING the watch to do something via bluetooth.
There is nothing related to hardware as bluetooth communication is standardised and supported by all the phones on the market, sensors run on the watch!
For the App its literally removing one line of code that checks for the Phone version (then displays the alert message).
Thats why sideloaded apps disabling the lock work.
Best example:
You have a car radio (watch). It works with all the stations that are transmitting (the phones).
And now the car developer says that You can not listen to all the radio stations besides one that is transmitted via the station that is owned by car dealership - and it is told that it is due to other stations now being "unsupported".
Although actually its all behind one if else case in the radio that got there with the update
if (our_radio) play() else crash().
Feels Fair?
Samsung should stop copycating Apple and start being user friendly instead of greedy!
PS. Watch 7 Ultra - worst Apple Watch Ultra ripoff
