Hi Samsung Tribe.

Recently purchased the Watch5 Pro, and would like to take advantage of the BP & ECG functionality, but I can't seem to use it, because my new phone is a Motorola Edge 2022. Kinda seems silly that the monitor app is only available through the Galaxy Store, when it should be available for use on any Android device right? Anybody have a suggestion on how to get the app on my phone so it will work with my new watch?

Thanks much all. Looking forward to a response. Cheers from 🇨🇦

Also, could I install the health monitor app on my old S7 and BT connect it to my watch that way...seems like alot of work to carry around both phones, my work phone and my watch... Don't know why it would be so hard for Samsung to make the monitor app available in the Play store so it can be used on all Android smartphones and not just restricted to only Samsung devices. Sad....

Here is the link to apk mirror Samsung Health Monitor.

But I really don't think that it's reasonable to expect Samsung's apps to work on non Samsung devices.

Motorola apps won't likely work on Samsung devices.

No maybe not, but Android is Android and with Android now becoming Google OS, it should be reasonable to expect that compatibilities exist regardless of the brand name of the smartphone or wearable if both operate on the same OS. Sure, there are some things that should be restricted to the device brand...just not applications or services that can be used that are not brand specific in their functionality. So if I buy a Samsung Watch that has health functionality that can be recorded and saved, it shouldn't matter what brand the recording / data storage device is...only that it is the same OS on both. Just my 2 cents.

I purchased the Galaxy Watch 6 when it was released this year, only to discover the blood pressure monitor function is DISABLED and requires a Samsung app to turn it on, which only works on Samsungs phone OS and a Galaxy phone.  Maybe I can get it working if I borrow someones junky Samsung phone for 5 minutes.
