Community GuidelinesAnd then you copied Subsection 1 of the law C-46, section 184 which does not support your "if the other person gives you their consent it's okay" argument, as the subsection 1 clearly states that it is illegal to record private comms, not that it is so unless you get consent
Then, I posted an excerpt from subsection 2 of the same law which contradicts your first assessment by clearly stating that if you are an active participant of the call, you do not need to get the other person's authorization to record the call.

Community Guidelines@CHMultimedia - When calling the Tech Support, like Dell, Microsoft...etc. I do always hear a recording said that the conversation will record for training purpose or for quality control. So, I do understand that all my phone conversation with tech support will be recorded. Is this also apply to the same law that you have post? If so, Canada is allow to record during phone call as long as the other caller know there will be recording, then is legal.
