SCAM!!...

I received a call from someone pretending to be from Samsung regarding my issues with recent purchase dis satisfaction. I m assuming he got my details from here somehow(?) since this is the only place I shared my greviences. But I m really unsure how he got my number, maybe he got a lucky guess regarding Samsung.

Traditional scam that he will send me money into my bank account etc etc and was asking details.

I know this is common sense, but never ever respond to calls like this JUST HANG UP!!! I have even received scam calls on my phone from the Canada Border Services Agency where they say a parcel with illegal contents has been intercepted with my name on it. I just hung up. CBSA will never call you. Another popular scam is the Canada Revenue Agency calling to say that if you don't pay your taxes, you will be issued an arrest warrant and thrown in jail.

Hey Jay, how about all those duct cleaner calls, too? I just tell them I'm in jail! That does the trick!

Or, tell them that THEY are the ones who reached Canadian Border Services, thank them for contacting you first, and investigators are on the way to their location 😂

Yup same here. The interesting part though this time was that the guy didn't have an Indian etc accent. I guess scammers are outsourcing their call centers to western countries. 😂

Well there's been a number of people who have posted their personal information on Samsung Members, unfortunately.

I'm not saying that you are one of those people, but we've all seen some people posting their email addresses, phone numbers, order numbers, loan numbers & IMEIs.

Whenever we see this, we strongly recommend that they edit or even delete their post, to remove their personal information.

It seems that some people feel that Samsung Members is a "safe" forum, while it is "moderated", it's also a very public forum, and personal information should NEVER be posted here!

It'd be great if Samsung Members fancy new "Spam Bot" & it's "machine learning" could prevent this personal information from ever getting posted.. but Yeah I know lol

There are so many scams making the rounds via email or phone. Always delete or hang up. They will eventually stop.
