UPDATE May 2023. Better late than never.

  • Credit where it is due and Samsung is due some credit .... One of the updates to my phone fixed this issue and now my friends and colleagues no longer comment that I sound like a robot on Bluetooth in my Honda

Thank you Sammy

Got a new a53 and it works well but it has an issue with Bluetooth connection in my Honda accord 2013.

It is not a problem with my Honda has my previous LG phone worked absolutely perfectly with it.

My a53 connects to my car just fine and plays music perfectly and connects calls perfectly also but my own voice is garbled by distortion when I try to speak to anyone over the phone.

This is almost certainly a software issue with the a53 as there would be much more reports if it was a problem with Android.

And yes you can find other people on the internet who have this exact same issue with the a53.

JJust just fix it please.

same issue, old s9's worked fine, new a53's work on my 2018 ford f150, do not work on 2018 rav4. Out going voice is robotic and not understandable, incoming voice is fine, media plays fine. still within the 14 day return, may have to eat $50 restock fee, been using samsung phones for  more than a decade, may stop. Also may report to NTSB as it is a safety risk to have to try to switch phone to speaker while driving to be able to speak, no longer hands free which is also a ticketable offense if caught holding your phone while driving.

After  3-4 Android\T-Mobile updates; my A53 still does not work with the bluetooth in any on my vehicles. Samsung either does not care about fixing the issue as the phone will age out soon, OR; there is a chip issue which software\firmware cannot fix in anyways.  Waited long enough to not be able to use my hands-free phone features while driving. Amazing that this is somewhat of a safety issue that has not been resolved. Since there is no official posting about this issue I can only assume Samsung does not want to admit the phone is faulty and unrepairable.

The Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update seems to have fixed the Bluetooth car issue for me, however, the first issue here still exists where the other person on the other end of a voice call or video call using an app (ex. Whatsapp or Snapchat) sound like a robotic or a robot but the person on the other end can hear me just fine. I would then have to hang up and try calling again.

I upgraded my phone software and no difference, still get robotic sound that cycles when I call someone hands free.

From my understanding this is common for Samsung phones with the latest bluetooth (5.1?) on legacy car hands free systems (bluetooth 5.0). The only fix would be if Samsung puts in a downgrade bluetooth connection option to work with older systems, otherwise we are stuck with this until we wither get a new car, replace our head units, or get an upgraded bluetooth receiver. Our head units will not have updated software. This is a real disappointment for Samsung, my car is a 2018, the fact that it is not compatible is unacceptable. Samsung needs to issue a patch.

Hello,I was on the phone this am Vancouver British Columbia with the engineering dept from the authorized repair company which Samsung told me to send my GalaxyA53 5g (re:Bluetooth robotic sounding) they checked my phone and told me the hardware is fine. THOUGH SAMSUNG IS WORK8NG ON A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE ISSUE .So if that is somewhat of a relief I take it it is a waiting game.

Mine too! My old A10 worked just fine with my 2013 Honda CRV's bluetooth, but no one can understand me with this phone. They say I sound metallic, garbled, like a robot. Very annoying, because then I have to switch it speaker phone and hold it with one hand while I drive.

Anyone come up with a fix?

Same issue with my a53 and my 2019 Subaru Forrester.  My S21 and Pixel 7 work fine. Software (or perhaps EXYNOS? issue?)

Same issue in Montréal, Canada, my A53 with both Prius C 2018 and Honda CR-V 2016 give me an incomprehensible robotic voice... Samsung, please fix your A53 voice software or trade in our phones!
