Hello Everyone!

I am very new to Samsung. I've just received my Samsung A53 5G... and I'm struggling to understand everything!

Right now, I am trying to figure out how to create more folders in my Apps pages. Every time I click & hold an App icon to try and move it on top of another (to create a folder); the App instead creates a copy that appears in the Home pages.

My phone already came pre-loaded with four folders at the top of the first Apps page. One each for Google, Koodo, Microsoft & Samsung.

In order to move Apps into these folders - I need to first open the folder & select a plus (+) sign on top, to the right of a circle that can be used to change the folders colour.

Does anyone know how I can create a new folders in the Apps pages? I am & would be forever grateful for your help!

Kindest Regards;

Nancy

I did! Copied & pasted it to a Google web page. Went to website. Selected login and manually entered my samsung email & password... and when it logged in... it went right back to this page! I almost broke down crying.

Hello!

Finally I think I'm here... I'm tryingbto figure out how to attach a video to this post...

I've attached the video. . But it says it's "processing" for the last five minutes... I may have to try again.

In the meantime, here is the explanation of the video:

Please watch this screen recording I made to show you what I'm trying to say!

At the beginning of the recording - I am on my Home landing page. I swipe/move to the right onto a Home page I created. Here - you can see me select WhatsApp, drag it over some apps until the white box appears... indicating that I can create a folder. Finally, I add it to FB Messenger to create a folder.

Then, I swipe left to return to my Home landing page. Then, I swipe/move down to go to my Apps landing page. Across the top - you will see the four folders that came with the phone. Google, Koodo, Microsoft, Samsung.

I then swipe/move to the right to go to the WhatsApp app on my App page. I select & hold on the icon. However when I do, instead of being able to drag it around my Apps pages - my phone immediately moves the icon upwards to my Home landing page. I immediately try to drag it back downwards, back to my Apps landing page... but my screen won't move. I then drag it to the right, to my first created Home page. I once again try to drag it back down to my Apps pages... but it won't move.

I give up and let it drop on my Home page.

I immediately swipe/move down again to my App page. As you can see... the WhatsApp icon is still there! When I selected it & dropped it the first time... it didn't move the app... it created a copy on my Home page.

Again, I try to select the WhatsApp icon. This time, a blue check box appears on it. On top of this - it appears that I can check all the other apps on my two Apps pages as well.

For the second time I try to hold and move it - but instead of moving it on my Apps page... it once again moves upwards to my Home page. I try again to drag it back down to my Apps page... but it won't go down.

I finally get disheartened, and let it drop. Making a second copy of the app on my Home page.

I hope this video better explains what's happening to me.

I think that I understand, you are redirected to the home page because you wait for a too long time holding on the app, don't wait more than 2 seconds to start moving the app in the apps page so you will stay in it. If you prefer you can press the app for about 1 second, tap on "select" choose the apps that you want to put in a folder and tap "create a folder"Screenshot_20220913-210212_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20220913-210157_One UI Home_1000000033_1663117317.jpgScreenshot_20220913-210205_One UI Home.jpg

Oh my... I'm not sure why is no one understanding what I am trying to say??! I already know how to drag & drop to create a folder in the Home pages. I'm talking about the Apps pages BELOW the Home pages..?!!

Please see attached screen shots. The first picture is my Home landing page. The second is my App landing page. If you click the three vertical dots to the far right of the Search bar at the top of the App landing page... then select "Settings"... it tells the difference between the Home page & the Apps page........Screenshot_20220913-200724_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20220913-200850_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20220913-200842_One UI Home.jpg
