I wanted to ask if its possible for a smartphone to have two mac addresses? I'm trying to determine a device on my home internet,  but cannot match the MAC address. I have my current smartphone connected,  but its indicating that this device has not been connected in 2 days, and I've matched the MAC address on the system.  What next?

Not at all, it's basically an industry-wide feature. That is a stock feature on Android since Oreo. Though I'm afraid to say that you haven't quite kept up with comms news. And MAC addresses are more accurately described as an ID card for your hardware. Instead of using your real name everywhere, you use a random name and nobody can track you physically (except if you let GPS-tracking apps on your phone, but that's another story). Your IP address is your Internet address and it can change since you are allocated one, like a P.O. box.

Yes, since Oreo. But set Randomise as default is Android10, recently. Yes, software base random MAC address. Good for user privacy.
