It's not abandoned, there's currently a One ui 4.0 beta build 4 for the note 20 series.

Oh really? I've been just looking around for any info on a release date for my device but I guess it might be still to early.
I heard the note series is might be done now or really soon being replaced with the fold series as the productive luxury brand.
Hopefully we get an official date for release, I personally love the note series and is one of the only reasons I'm still with Samsung considering all the other great phones out now.

I'm actually on the Note 20 one UI 4.0 build and it's the last build before the public release.
Well, they have tried to kill the note line before. If the sales of the fold keep going up and Samsung finds a way to fit an S pen silo on the fold and some top-notch cameras and specs. It could replace the note series.
The Next S22 ultra (which might be rebranded to Note 22 ) is continuing the note line. The leaks show the signature rectangular Note like aspect ratio. The aspect ratio on the Leaked s22 ultra is the same as the note 20 ultras. Also has a build-in s pen silo.

Anyways we will all know in January at the unpacked event 🙂.

Your device was sheduled to get Abdroid 12 in December but there have been some delays so you should be able to expect it sometime in January

It's gonna get android 12 and 13 since the s10 series before it is getting android 12. Just root it after support ends as their is a big community around rooting android phones and giving them newer versions of software. Particularly for popular and high end devices

"Just Root it" lol, Yeah that whole pesky Locked Bootloader on the Snapdragon variants. 

Root isn't available on the S20 at this time & maybe never, AND if it becomes possible to unlock the Bootloader, it won't be free.

Bootloader has been locked on the Snapdragon variants since the S8 series.

Last Canadian Flagship you could easily Root was the S7, but it had the Exynos chip in Canada, but not the US.
