Galaxy Note
Hi all, after Oreo update, my phone really drain battery, even I am not using it.
I've tried:
- Wipe cache partition
- Factory reset
- Disable unused apps notifications
- Decrease brightness
I understand that this is not Samsung issue. But read thousands of posts and try many different settings, nothing works for me.
Today, I read a post and tried the settings, the battery drain slow down. The drain rate seems to back to Naugot and I am happy. Therefore, I would like to share this solution to everyone. May not work for everyone, but hope this help anyone who has battery drain issue. Worth to give it a try
Settings → Apps → Google Play Services → Permissions
Disable (turn off) "Body Sensors"
That's it. My battery life back to normal again. Not sure what is that sensors for, but seems to not affect my phone so far. Hope this help anyone who has the same problem like me.

Body Sensors are needed by Samsung Health - Google Fit etc - If you don't use them then it's fine to disable - But that's just part of what you can do to improve battery life 🐧

But my S Health still works even though I disabled Body sensors. I don't use Google Fit thou.

Don't know if Samsung Health is accurately recording Steps when running without body sensors... But Body Sensors aren't likely to be using much battery anyway....If you have Google Assistant set up to "always listening" that's likely to use much more of the battery..
@CHMultimedia yeah I wasn't saying that Play Services would be used by Samsung Health...
Anyway there's quite a few other things that you can do to minimise the battery use.
Tools like BBS - Wakelock Detector - GSam Battery Monitor can help you figure out what is actually draining your battery 🐧

Tip: turn off developer options when not in use. Found that it would chew my battery for some reason. Battery life is in the realm of reality now.
