With OneUI 3.0 the ability to share the device screen with the Samsung Smart View function to Chromecast has been removed. Samsung says to share the screen through the Google Home app instead. Problem:

Sharing the screen through Google Home does not let you use headphones. You have to listen to the audio output of the TV (or speakers connected to the TV).

Being able to share my screen with Smart View used to let me watch a video on my TV by casting to the Chromecast while listening to the audio through the headphones connected to my phone. This was a great feature which Google Cast doesn't natively support.

Also, this makes the "Video Assistant" feature of the Samsung Internet browser essentially useless, as it also uses Smart View to cast videos from the browser, except it no longer detects Chromecast devices.

Please bring this back. Reducing functionality like this is not a good look, and only serves to make Samsung less appealing with fewer differentiating features.

Just noticed. This has been stated on UI 3.0 setup description.

Yes, it's already knownssince the December Update, that you have to use Google Home, but it has serious limitations.

Yes, it was. I wanted to continue to draw attention to it so it didn't become another feature that got removed and swept under the rug.

At the rate of removal, of what were once considered basic functions, Soon you'll have to own a Samsung washing machine to use your phone.. Samsung seems to be bent on cross selling, at the expense of customer satisfaction.

But the Smartview still on my phone. It just not work with Chromecast, can't say functionality remove.

If Smart View no longer works with Chromecast, then yes functionality has been removed, and it's ONLY Samsung phones on One UI V3.0x. It still works on other manufacturer's Android 11 phones.

. Samsung Health still shows EKG, BP & O² as being options, but none of them function on the S20 /S21 series, because Samsung decided to remove the sensor.. to sell more Samsung watches, but you still have to ha*ck the watch, because Samsung hasn't done what Apple & others have done, get regulatory approval!

You have your point of view.

Although I cannot guarantee. But I think Samsung is not intend to remove Smartview connect to Chromecast. I thing there is a chance Samsung and Google can resolve this problem.
