I had to do a factory reset a few weeks ago and now I am unable to set custom notification sounds in the Messages app but prior to the reset their was an update to the messages app that allowed me to set a custom notification for a specific thread/conversation but now I don't have it.

I'm on the current (update went live today with July 1 patch but was on the June 1 patch update from the reset onward) and the messages app won't update. Says 4.4.11.4 is the latest and most up-to-date version but I know this isn't true since it's missing this feature I had before the reset.

I don't want to download an apk to side load unless I know it's the correct Note 8 app (not S9 or S8 version). Anyone able to confirm the latest version number of the Samsung Messages app for me (N950W unlocked but using a Koodo sim).

Thanks!

There's only one version of the Samsung Messaging app - ie: It's suitable for all Samsung devices - All processors & nodpi which means all displays - Read the description 🙂🐧

Thanks for all 3 replies guys! It's very much appreciated!

Weird it won't update itself but I'll go get the apk and install now that I know it won't be an issue at all.
