So, back in April 2021, T-Mobile did an OTA update enabling esim functionality on their Note 20 products.
Here in Canada, my carrier, Telus supports esim capabilities.
Do we push for an update through our service provider (in my case, Telus) or do we contact Samsung to achieve this?
I'm using the Note 20 Ultra SM-N986W.
Any insight or guidance would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

I did. They say the device is "currently not supported".

Other Manufacturers provide eSIM support in Canada, ie: Apple's iPhone.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple had negotiated some kind of exclusivity deal in Canada with it's Carriers. Either that, or eSIM support is in the same file as Samsung's certification with Health Canada for EKG & BP... 🙄

Or, tell Samsung Members what Samsung thinks they want to hear, & hope that they forget that they asked for file.

This post provided, by your friends at the cut 'n paste sheep farm 🙄

No exclusivity there. Here are the other devices Telus covers with esim.
- Google Pixel 3a, 3a XL, 4, 4 XL or newer
- Motorola Razr (XT2000-2/Single eSIM only)
- Huawei P40, P40 pro

Hi YEG007SS, Currently eSIM functionality is not supported on any of the Canadian variant Samsung phones.

Thanks for answering a question I didn't ask. 🙄
It's the same hardware as what T-Mobile distributes.
In fact, there are Canadian users that have flashed their devices with the T-Mobile firmware and successfully established Sim Card Manager with an esim, albeit without the same network bands we need here.
When will Samsung address this desired functionality for consumers that spent $2k+ on one of their flagship devices?

Yes & it's ABSOLUTELY NOT a hardware issue. It's an arbitrary decision made by Samsung Canada & the Canadian Carriers... PERIOD!

I've been Flashing the US Betas on my Canadian devices for several years.

I'm presently waiting for the US Beta for my S20 Ultra (refuse to buy a device without an external sd card).

To reiterate, it's NOT Samsung's Canadian phones that don't support eSIM, it's Samsung & the Carriers who decided not to support eSIM.
