Hi, I bought the Note8 from Samsung.ca and got it on the 4th of January. I watched a movie on it for the first time last night on my bed and noticed light visible from what's playing on the screen between the screen and the metal frame on the left side. Is this normal or should I call Samsung for a replacement or repair?
I called Samsung today. They've opened a case and I emailed them these pictures I took. They said they'll respond back with a solution within 24 hours. I'll keep you guys posted.
Yeah, it's light leaking from the glass refraction of the curved screen. Most users tend to refer it to "light bleed" though that isn't really the case. I have it on mine (which is much more visible than yours in the dark). But I take it more as a cosmetic defect that has been happening since the first curved glass Samsung Edge phones. It doesn't seem like Samsung is able to iron out this issue 100%.
Hey guys, sorry for the very late update. I was busy. I took the phone in to a Samsung Service centre and they said they will replace the screen. I forgot to back my phone up so I'll be returning next week to change the screen. Let's see if it fixes the problem. Will update again next week.
