Could use some help. I bought an unlocked note 9 512gb over a year ago. Was under a carrier that didn't support RCS at the time. But when I switched carriers I saw the pop up to link my number but was setting up my voicemail at the time and I've never been able to get the pop up to show since. I've tried factory resetting my device as that's what Bell has said to do. And samsung seems to push me over to them.

Is there anyone who might be able to walk me through getting my RCS set up? I'm fine resetting the phone if need be just tell me ahead of time so I can back it up with smart switch. I'm with Bell they have said its active on my account I just cant get it on the phone.

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: I meant Advanced Messaging not RCS.

Hi Punkyskunky,

Bell (Virgin, etc) opted out on this feature as its using its own messaging services. However, please try the steps an check if you see that option.
1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
2. Tap Messages Messages icon.
3. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (middle-right).
4. Tap Settings.
4. Review the Advanced Messaging info then tap Next.
5. To continue, review the Terms of Service then tap Get started.

If this option is not available then please check with your carrier again.

I've seen posts saying that something didn't change in the settings but I cant figure out what it is. it's one of those dialer settings and all the comments said it will erase everything on your phone.

RCS & Advanced Messaging is the same thing - You should be able to use RCS with Google Messages without any problems.

I've seen the same message on my S10+ One UI V2.1 with Rogers - Just make sure that you have Google Messages as the Default Messaging app & Reboot - Try again & it SHOULD work for you as well.
