Just to let anyone know if you like your Note 7 and really can't fing anything else comparable and do not want to exchange then you don't have to, the choice is all yours.
I've contacted Samsung to tell them I have no plans on returning or exchanging this phone. I've already received the replacement model and that was enough of a headache, only to have to do it again..? I dont think so. The agent on the phone basically tells you its highly recommended and although it is mandatory there really isn't any repercussions. They cannot force you to hand your phones in. Of course, if something were to happen, your on your own.
I also asked them if they will be remotely shutting down the phones after (x) amount of weeks or months and the agent said no, and that she has not heard of anything like that.
So basically the owness is on you if you would like to exchange for either a refund or a new phone. Personally, for me, I'm going to keep the phone and just be a little more cautious then normal.
Their are many good quality paid security apps that can safeguard your phone just as good.
I'm not too worried about Samsung pay. its taken forever to come out and its not a make or break deal for me. I can wait till the Note 8, and I'm sure most people can as well.
