Hi;
Am I the only one to experiment frozen screen on the note 8?
Like 1 time per week my phone freeze and it's not responsive, I have to press power for a minute to restart the phone or wait few minutes for the phone itself to stop being frozen.

Edit:

I'll add that few applications stop regularly.

A white on screen pop-up appear to tell me lateral screen stopped, outlook stopped, ui stopped and stuff like that.

Are you using SwiftKey as your keyboard app by any chance?

Yes, my keyboard is a SwiftKey one. Been using that one for years and it never got me frozen screen. You think it had a bad update? :(

I used SwiftKey for years and never had an issue until i did... i am 100% sure it was due to SwiftKey. I even had my phone sent in to Samsung and had the motherboard replaced and my s8 would randomly freeze even when not in use i would pick up my phone to find it unresponsive, after removing SwiftKey it never froze again.... now that may not be the case for you but I know how frustrating it can be so i thought I would throw it out there.

so you had your MB swapped without booting clean first? I think it's far too easy (and common) to blame hardware issues on software problems. The first thing before attempting major surgery is to boot into safe mode or at the very least hard reset and test for 30 days. then slowly add 10 system intersecting apps (ie. keyboard) at a time and test again.

as for the OP... 9 out of 10 times something is interacting badly with a system app.

remove any sd card and boot into safe mode. try and repeat same actions that froze your n8.

I did a factory reset before i had my mb replaced, didn't install any apps at first then just the essential ones of which SwiftKey was to me because I hated just about everything else... freezing was hard to replicate for me because it would never happen while I was using the phone, i would wake up to find i would have to soft reset the phone... servers advice is sound
