Currently using note 9 with Roger's, Android 9 with December security patch.  Does anyone currently with Rogers or another Canadian carrier have rich chat services working? I have no options in native messaging app to turn on. As far as I can tell and read it has been supported for a while now.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have it on my Rogers Note9. For some reason the Note9 has a different client and you can only pick the default message type

I use Google Messages. So much better than Samsung's. But yes you should have it, make sure your CSC is set to RWC. Mine is FMC for Fido.

it's a bell phone originally but obviously unlocked. can I even change the csc? shouldn't it configure itself after sim and factory reset?

@CH lol? Stick to Samsung Messages then since you don't like the added benefits the Google app provides.

@drewpoc, ok so your CSC is Bell then and that's the problem. No it won't reconfigure itself, you need to change your CSC to Rogers and that WILL wipe all data when you do that.

The Google app... added benefits? Like uglier design and intrusive telemetry? Yeesh

huh ? "uglier design"? lol more like quick replies, suggestions, no annoying group messaging popups, easy to add gifs and other features.

Boring stuff at the cost of your privacy. No thanks. Unfortunately tech companies keep shoving that down everyone's throat because of gullible people who can't understand that their neat features will cost them their privacy.
