Hi guys,

I did search for this forum and found a lot of questions about WiFi Calling. I made a call to Rogers Wireless Tech Support. I told them I was able to enable WiFi Calling when using Android N. After update to Android O, Rogers said my phone is not eligible to use WiFi Calling. And the reason is "My phone is not purchased from Rogers, therefore I cannot use the WiFi Calling, even though my plan included this feature".

Is that true? That's no different to locking the phone for Rogers ONLY. Canada force the carrier to unlock all phones and carrier using features to force us buying their phones…Orz

I keep telling myself forget about WiFi calling and I don't need it. Enable it is just the bonus for my phone…

It's a matter of choice for a service that some may use or wait to use I guess. Personally I don't think worrying about WiFi signal is as important as having cellular service myself. Otherwise I would have gotten a SAT phone 🤘
