Wow what a horrible couple of days it goes like this I updated my phone and things were fine the other morning I was watching a video then my screen went black no battery was good no drops cracks nothing I baby my phone. Well for the life of me I could not get it to come on it had the black screen of death I later learned about. Well I paid $2000 for this phone had it 1 year and 1 month so it was 1 month past warranty. I called Samsung they said strange never tried and support like reboot anything said I should go to local store which I do not have so they sent me to a ubreakifix stores as they are Samsung certified. I explain my situation he looks at phone agrees it's really great condition no water drops cracked screen etc.
 Now it is coming on a minute then going dark then it will come on again then go something a little longer

Does your device randomly reboot, possibly to a Recovery Menu?

Sorry screen was down now. No it comes on then it fliffets after so long then goes so black I can not do anything. I did all the device tests and seriously I never dropped this scratch this phone it was my main phone. Anyways they want to replace the screen saying inner 2nd or third layer has micro cracks you can only see they under certain light. $450 what the phone was working perfect I was watching a video turned it off had shower turned it back on black screen. It has to be a software issue as I did a update the day before. Strange passed me off so bad after the watch experience that I'm moving on to iPhone for software reliability. Samsung says that I'm 1 month passed my warranty so this would be out of my pocket the shipping repairs etc..

I really don't think that it has anything to do with the warranty. I still have a Skyrocket, from 2011 that still works.

In fact every single Samsung device since the Skyrocket still works, & almost all of them have been used for testing Custom Roms - ie: Rooted.

I've purchased a new Samsung device every year up until The S21, because it doesn't have an external sd card.

Out of ALL those devices, only one had any hardware issues, my Note 4 that had an eMMc failure.

I also really don't think that it's a software issue.

As I said I've Flashed, probably over a hundred different Roms, from different Devs. A Software issue is immense obvious with custom firmware, but I've never had any software issues with Samsung's stock Firmware... EVER.

If you really believe that the issue is related to the recent update, you can Boot into Recovery & Wipe Cache to start with.. If you still have an issue, backup with Smart Switch & Factory Reset..

But from what you are describing, it sounds more like a hardware issue.

Like currently I'm using the note and screen flickers some. So if Mt screen was broke would it still turn on and be OK then shut off and so on repeating the process?

Yup, it's quite possible for a hardware issue to behave like that, until the screen just doesn't turn on at all.

Wow OK not putting Sim in it and not replacing the screen I guess I can not have it die out on me. Still very concerning and heart breaking I love this members app 😢
