Is there anyway in this app to automatically download MMS everytime I get one I have to press to download and sometimes takes forever.

I have data turned on all the time

then i guess it's on your network provider.

Check the auto retrieve settings for mms in the app settings.

both are on as well. I'm on bell, but when I used Google messages it worked without a problem.

I had problems with Samsung messenger on my s5 and now again with my s9+. Not the same as what you're describing though. I uninstalled it and am using Google messenger.
