So since OneUI 3.0 I noticed only for some contacts (not all) that when I open Gallery (stock Samsung gallery app) and open the photo I click the share icon. From there I pick the Messages app (stock Samsung messaging app) and some contacts when I pick them goes into messages app but sends the pic to their email not phone number. I tried looking at all settings and online but it's only some contacts so what the heck is going on?

I also am running on a fresh factory reset as well and still does this. It's driving me insane and pissing me off!

I think 1st check is your recepient has phone number in there or not.

If there is a phone number, could be contact app set email address as default.
When I try to reproduce your problem, message app ask me select phone or email. And I can set it as default too. Could be you did click set as default for email before. Try set phone number as default for the contact and test again.

Edit:
I never tried set anyone as default before. This could be resolved by clear cache and data from Samsung Messages app (set the app back to default settings).

Settings → Apps → Messages → Storage
Clear data & clear cache

Thanks Tallman.

Hi BloodWolfe, Please try the resolution provided by Tallman. If you still experiencing the issue, then please try opening the Messages app >> choose the recipient from the contact list >> touch the (+) icon to add the image and press send and check if you can send the MMS successfully.

yes I tried that and it sends fine. problem comes from clicking the share button in the gallery app and choosing Messages and it wanted to send by email. in the middle now of removing the contacts confirmed doing this and re-adding them. I tried what was already suggested with no luck. will report back after.

I tried changing the default and ya I double checked to make sure the number wasn't somehow deleted so it's there and all is fine. it's so weird.

Think I'll try deleting the contacts that are having this problem and add them back manually and see.from there. I've never seen this before so very strange.
