Spotify will not disappear from my status bar

Well this is quite annoying, I have Spotify installed on my Note 9 and for some reason it shows connecting to Spotify but it seems it never does and I can't get rid of the status. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

have you tried to uninstall the app, restart your phone and then reinstall in?
Also after reinstalling it, if the issue still persists, check the permission settings.

thanks SnowCat19, I just went into settings and turned off notifications for it. it's silly isnt it

Seems like this is a known issue to Spotify! Unfortunately this appears to be a problem on their end, so I'm not able to provide any definitive solutions. If you have a smartwatch paired to your device, uninstalling the app from your watch could help.

Ensuring your Spotify version is up-to-date could potentially fix the issue as well.

Have you tried to force stop spotify and reopen it.
