Whatsapp calls drop after 1 min when Bluetooth is turned on

Hi,

Everything was working fine until a couple of months back. Whenever I make an audio call over whatsapp, it drops exactly around 1min. I did restart, reset settings, contacted my provider but they couldn't figure out what happened. Later I figured out that it was because my bluetooth was on. Whenever bluetooth is off, call doesn't drop. Seems like it has something to do with the OS? I usually connect my Gear S3 and IconX to bluetooth. Any idea?

I prefer a non "smart watch", so I'm not familiar with the interface between the two devices but I imagine that there should be a way to set up the the preferred device to use for calls, texts etc, even when both devices are connected via Bluetooth. 

I guess check in the settings for both devices, to see if you can set the preferred device to use.

I couldn't find any. I found another user on XDA forum with the same issue as well. He also stated having problem around the same time as me. No luck yet

I'm experiencing the same issue since January, 2023. Originally on a Samsung G S22 and now on a brand new Samsung Galaxy S23. WhatsApp calls drop while on Bluetooth ONLY when I start them. If I get a WhatsApp call, even if I'm on Bluetooth, they don't get disconnected. It's driving me crazy...

I know right! No issues with incoming calls just outgoing. I haven't figured out what the root cause is. Tried getting a new sim card, reset/restart phone/network/settings, tech support etc. No luck. I'm waiting for the new software update mine is the November patch now. Hopefully they'll fix the next update

Right, I've tried so many things so far to no avail. It's so frustrating...

My phone is on the new One UI 5.1, January 2023 patch.

Exact same problem here with my brand new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra when connected to my Mazda's bluetooth. If I start the WhatsApp call, it randomly cuts after about 45s. If others call me, it's fine. Sooo frustrating and haven't found a solution :(

I have an Acura and i am using the S22 ultra, thought it was an issue with my car since if connected with my earbuds or watch the call doesn't drop. However like you said the call cuts randomly when connected to my car's Bluetooth. Please let me know if you found any solution!

If it's only happening with WhatsApp, then I'd suggest asking in any WhatsApp community forums.
