Some smart home devices need access point to configure wifi, but this feature seems to be turned off by default on my FE 20 5G cell, as the access-points are not listed under wifi. Please help!

Could be your access point configuration i correct that's why it doesn't shows on your wifi list.

Can you tell what kind of access point you are using? Are you converting your router to access point bridge mode?

Thanks a lot for the link, but the article doesn't address my issue. Perhaps a description without the terminologies would help clarify the problem. To set up, say, a security camera, the app would ask you to connect "ipcxxx" first, which should be listed on your cell's wifi list. This was straightforward with my previous cellphones. But my new Samsung S FE 20 5G doesn't list any such connection points under wifi. I have seen many smart devices, including some from well known manufacturers, continue to use this approach to configure wifi connection. I've also filed a support request with Samsung but hoped to get a quick help hand from the community.

Hi, Welcome to the Samsung Members Community Canada. Please perform the reset Network Settings on your device and get back to us with the results.

Go to Settings>> General Management>>Reset>>Reset Network Settings>>Reset settings.

This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth. Restart the mobile if necessary and check if it works.

Thank you Georgine. I've gone ahead and done that with no luck.Screenshot_20210914-153919_La Crosse View.jpgScreenshot_20210914-160736_Samsung Members.jpg

Hi, We request you to register an Error Report from the Samsung Members app by attaching the system logs.

Open the Samsung Members app>> Menu >> Support >> Send feedback >> Error Report >> Send system log file.

With these logs, our team could analyze the performance and errors on the device and if there is anything related to the Samsung update that you have installed recently, we would push a fix through an update.

I know that everytime I have to connect my WI Fi enabled smart thermostat I have to go to the manual that came with it to figure out how to get it connected so maybe you have to do the same
