I've 4 programs open and my memory goes below 500mb available. Then my web pages old tab start to reload. Anyone getting this on their S9?

I hope Samsung can make android P more memory efficient. There is some 850mb reserved by Samsung, but still a lot is used by random Samsung software (things like blocked numbers, when I've none).

Hopefully Samsung can do something about it. If Apple can make iPhone be ok with 3gb, we'll certainly with S7, s8, S9, Samsung can do something to help reduce background memory usage so my tabs don't reload!

You can see in screenshot. Even after clearing memory I've 764mb memory left... I really wish S9 came with 6gb ram if I knew this 😢😢😢😢ffa7ec14-671b-4bb8-a7f3-4d7b8f890c18.jpg

it's better that you have less ram that's the way android runs/works

Well it's "better" to have more total capacity in RAM - but there's a truism in Android that "unused RAM is wasted RAM" 🐧
(Especially if you ROOT JK LOL)

I care because when i had S7, the pages wouldn't reload (come from iPhone 1gb). But s9 is not efficient with 4gb ram and now I'm experiencing close to similar issues I had with iPhone 6 1gb

Which browser are you using? I is it in pardee chromium browser the and I can have up to 12 -13 tabs open without issue. Never needed more than that, so I don't know limit. This is with a game running back ground. Using s8 plus.

Memory management was is the iPhone is an android problem. Nobody knows how the iPhone is able to compress memory down to double digit megabytes. That is how the iPhone is able to manage which such little RAM.

You don't need to look at how much ram you have left pane that is a useless index. Regardless of how many apps you have open the ram usage will remain the same common within a 100 to 200MB.
